Why do we dynamometer test every JASPER Remanufactured Running Complete Diesel? We put our diesels through rigorous testing processes to assure you trouble-free performance of both mechanical and electronically-controlled engines.
Using the latest in scan tools, such as the Rotunda and Tech 2, JASPER tests engines under varying loads to simulate in-the-vehicle operation. The testing phase is concluded with an engine run-in and inspection to assure optimal performance and operating efficiency.
Keep in mind that testing is standard process and may vary depending on the design of a specific engine. For example, checking the turbo boost wouldn’t apply to a naturally aspirated 7.3 International engine or the contribution test wouldn’t apply to a non-electronic engine etc. The battery of tests include:
- Oil Pressure at idle & full load
- Water Temperature
- Oil Temperature
- Horsepower at varying RPM’s including full load
- Full Load RPM
- Low Idle RPM
- Valve Train lubrication
- Fuel Pressure
- Turbo boost
- Crankcase Pressure
- Inspect for water leaks
- Inspect for fuel leaks
- Inspect for intake & exhaust leaks
- Black Light test for oil leaks (during final run in)
- Timing recheck
- Opacity check - snap test & full load
- Buzz test
- Contribution test
- Sensor checks
Remember, every Running Complete is live run on the dynamometer, no exceptions.
