Jasper Engines and Transmissions Associates Close Year With Cold Winter Cash and Prizes

Jasper, IN - Jasper Engines & Transmissions Associates gathered at 6:00 A.M. on Friday, December 2 for the second of two Safety, Attendance and Wellness (S.A.W.) programs for 2005. This morning, $31,000 in cash and prizes was awarded. The company through the 13 S.A.W. programs held in 6 years has awarded $450,000 in cash and prizes.

The meeting began in the Jasper, IN, facility with the company's Crawford County facility "on-line" for all of the announcements. Doug Bawel, company president, began the meeting by recognizing eight recipients of the Jasper Engines & Transmissions "Do It Right" award selected from 132 nominees. The "Do It Right" award is given to those Associates who go above and beyond the norm to improve safety, quality, productivity and customer service.

He also recognized Associates for the over 2400 continuous improvement ideas submitted throughout the year. A total of 2069 ideas were implemented.

The S.A.W. programs make a positive impact for the company and its over 1800 Associates. Bawel reported a 9% improvement in Safety related injuries over last year and stated that the company's incident rate was well below the national average. In addition, 82% of the company's Associates participated in health screenings this year. The company also launched a "Lunch and Learn" wellness program during this S.A.W. period and continued its "Fit Within" wellness program as well. A large number of Associates participated in these programs to promote a healthy lifestyle.

It was time for the moment everyone was waiting for and the winners from the S.A.W. drawing were announced.

The grand prizewinner of $5,000 was Tom Shearn, Jr. of the company's Crawford County facility. As he had his picture taken this morning after the meeting, Tom said, "I can't tell you how much this means to me. This is a great company. Thank-you all very much."

The winners of $50.00 in cash were: Raymond Young, Audra Dilger, Terri Jones, Roxann King, George Bolin, Paul Wessel, John Lythgoe, Ryan Otto, Joe Hagan, Audrey Kluesner, Kathy Meador, Jack Sanders, Jody Stuffle, Carolyn Bennett, Josh Goeppner, Rocky Arvin, Shelva King, Bill Wessel, Larry Thompson, Chip Temple, Sharon Cornelius, Richie Russell, Jill Everman, Brandon Ratterree, Dale Simpson, Jeff Wagner, Joe Steffen, Gina Steiner, Gene Fleck, Mike Spalding, Robert Stevens, Charlie Mogan, Shirley Simmons, Nancy Lyons, Wayne Shelley, Deidra Howell, Ray Lunsford, Dawn Cummings, Dave Bachman and Myra Stroud.

The $100.00 winners were: Joe McKinney, Shaun Herskowitz, Alan Gramelspacher, Mollie Barber, Jason Woodall, Jeff Lechner, Mayra Herrera, John Alles, Linda McCallister, Michael Beier, Sam Schwenk, Powell Eubank, Mike Wright, Phil Wirthwein, Ralph Martin, Steve Durcholz, Mike Cunningham, Mike Gray, Nay Dant, Jr., Ryan Mehling, Adam Wise, Howard Wagner, Dave Eckert, Tim Sanders, and Patty Elliott.

The $200.00 cash winners were Gene Mullis, Bill Malone, Matt Wagner, Chadd Clymer, Phil Hostetler, Curt Elsler, Dan Mehringer, Tim Welman, Kris Crossley, Dan Etienne, Jay Craig, Lynn Krodel, Brian Mills, Rich Leamer, and Andy Rieck.

The winners of $500.00 in cash were: Seneca Meyer, Dave Meyer, Brian Krutz, Arvella Rickman, Frank Kimmel, David Napper, Toni Mize, Charlotte Collins, Jim Zehr, and Brandon Epple.

There were four lucky winners of $1,000.00 in cash. They were Debbie Quinn, Bonnie Hayes, Jeremy Parsons and Aaron Mitchell.

Kicking it up a notch, three JASPER Associates won $1,500.00 in cash - Vickie Troutman, Kevin Fisk and Jeana Cummins.

The winners of $2,500.00 were Harold Sander and Brian Partenheimer.
