JASPER 4-Speed Transmissions and Differentials took top honors in this weekend's NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series respectively. Both series ran the Watkins Glen road course. It went a bit deeper than that, however, as JASPER Race Products went on to claim the top three positions in both series. A recap of the finishes in the Cheez-it 355 at the Glen is as follows: 1st Kyle Busch (JASPER 4-Speed Transmission) 2nd Brad Keselowski (JASPER Differential) 3rd Martin Truex, Jr. (JASPER 4-Speed Transmission) 6th Clint Bowyer (JASPER 4-Speed Transmission) 7th Joe Logano (JASPER Differential) 19th Denny Hamlin (JASPER 4-Speed Transmission) 23rd Matt Kenseth (JASPER 4-Speed Transmission) 28th Landon Cassill (JASPER 4-Speed Transmission) 32nd Brian Vickers (JASPER 4-Speed Transmission) The current Chase standings for drivers running JASPER Race Products are: Clint Bowyer in 2nd; Kyle Busch in 5th; Matt Kenseth in 7th; Brad Keselowski in 8th; and Martin Truex, Jr. in 10th. In the NASCAR Nationwide Series, Brad Keselowski and Sam Hornish, Jr. finished 1st and 2nd respectively - a repeat of Pocono last week - Both drivers run JASPER Differentials. Also running JASPER Race Products in this week's Nationwide race were Brian Vickers (JASPER 4-Speed Transmission), who finished 3rd; Joey Logano (JASPER Differential) in 21st; Kyle Busch (JASPER 4-Speed Transmission), finishing 24th; and Andrew Ranger (JASPER 4-Speed Transmission) in 26th. Sam Hornish, Jr. is in 2nd place in the Nationwide standings.

JASPER's Crawford County remanufacturing facility has earned Star Certification in the Indiana Department of Labor's Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). A ceremony, held July 22nd at the Crawford facility, provided an opportunity for Associates, staff and management to showcase their exemplary safety status to state labor officials. "JASPER has a great safety culture," said JASPER Safety Director Jason Pieper. "Earning Star Certification is just the foundation for where we want to be in our continuing safety journey." VPP, Indiana's Voluntary Protection Program, was established to recognize and promote safety and health management programs throughout the state. "You are one of just 59 VPP Star Certified sites in the state of Indiana, and there are over 480,000 employers in the state," says Beth Gonzalez, VPP Team Leader for the Indiana Department of Labor. "It's all about Continuous Improvement," said Zach Bawel, JASPER President and Chief Operating Officer. "Associates have done a great job submitting safety ideas as part of JASPER's Continuous Improvement program. We must continue submitting these safety ideas, because the most important thing as Associate-Owners of the company is that our fellow owners go home safely."

Rich Mehling (left) and Mark King (right) earn awards at the IMTA Driving Championships JET Transit had seven drivers compete in the annual Indiana Motor Truck Association's Truck Driving Championships recently held in Indianapolis. JASPER is pleased to announce that we had two drivers earn awards. Rich Mehling placed second in the 4-Axle Class and Mark King earned the Rookie of the Year award. The event consists of a written exam, pre-trip inspection and six road course events. The score of each event is added to come up with a total score used to determine the champion in each of eight different classes, as well as a team championship. JET Transit drivers also participating in this year's IMTA competition were: Wayne Beavin in the 5-Axle division, Ron Tobin in the Flatbed division, Brian Kuhs in the Sleeper division, Denny Schepers in the Straight Truck division and Bob Pickett in the Tanker division. Congratulations to all seven drivers who competed and for a job well done.
