Jasper Endows Today and Tomorrow presented a $5,000.00 grant September 29th to the Dubois County Leadership Academy to buy LUCAS devices for all fire departments in Dubois County. The LUCAS device, short for Lund University Cardiopulmonary Assist System, mechanically provides automatic chest compressions at a fixed rate to patients in transport suffering from cardiac arrest, and is an alternative to a person performing CPR.
